A Short Biography of Iwan Sunito
Born in 1966 in the Indonesian city of Surabaya, Iwan Sunito lived part of his childhood in Pangkalan Bun before heading back to Surabaya. There he covered his high school education. He was an average student. He did is final years of high school education in Sydney, where he had migrated to in 1985. There, he realized that focus and determination were significant aspects of his education that he needed to strive for so that he could succeed in Sydney.
Iwan Sunito joined University of New South Wales after completing his high school. He majored in Architectures as an undergraduate degree, which was not his initial choice. Nevertheless, Iwan studied fervently till he graduated in 1992. He then did a Master of Construction Management degree and successfully graduated in 1993.
Sydney was a place that offered Iwan Sunito opportunities for a career, thus he opted to stay there rather than heading back to Indonesia after he completed schooling. In 1993, Iwan was a registered architect working for Cox Richardson Architects in New South Wales. Have the great desire to be run a company of his own, six months down the line, Iwan quit and set out to start his architectural company called Joshua International Architects.
Iwan had a business partner who was his colleague and friend while in university called Paul Sathio. Together they co-founded Crown international Holdings Group in 1996. An accomplishment achieved four years after graduating while Paul had some sound experience since he had been in the property business market for 10 years for co-founding the company with Iwan Sunito.
Having projects that total over 2.8 billion dollars to its name, Crown Group has grown over the years building a reputation for itself as a highly active property development company in Sydney. The company has new development project running in North Sydney that commenced last year . In addition, Crown Group landed the contract to develop some property right at the heart of Central Business District in Sydney.
In 2007, Crown Group bagged the HIA Apartment of the year award for its ICON at Homebush project in the CSR Housing Awards ceremony. Five years down the line, the company bagged yet another award. This time it was the Master Builders Association Excellence in Housing Ward.
Among the nominees for the Ernst and Young Australian Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2013 is Crown Group. Winning this highly coveted award that puts any company on the worldwide business map will see the group represent Australia in the 2014 Global Awards Ceremony slated to be in Monaco.
Raising funds for the Sydney Children Hospital was among the many other charitable activities that Iwan Sunito did. Though he has spent most of his years in Australia, which has led to him forgetting most of his Indonesian dialect, Iwan strives to ensure that he helps the needy children in his home place – Indonesia. It is his way of helping them get the necessary opportunities that can help them be successful in life. He was also among the team that was in the Indonesia Tsunami Corporate Appeal after the 2006 Asian Tsunami acting in the capacity of the chairperson.
Though having a busy work life, Iwan Sunito is a true family man – finding time to be with his wife and kids. He regularly takes the kids to school. He says a CEO should also be in tune with everything about his life, including family. Iwan and his family reside in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.
